Following on from the success of their first two recent singles, The Pipe Brothers Project are releasing their third single, the majestic, emotive and melodic ‘Heart & Soul’ on 27th October via the ProgBlues Music label.
Brothers Andrew & Jamie Pipe formed The Pipe Brothers Project in early 2018 as an instrumental side project to their main band, the acclaimed and award winning British rock act ‘The Mentulls’, in order to have another outlet for the music they create.
With already armfuls of experience between them, the brothers can boast playing and working alongside some of the musical greats and some of their all time heroes from Grammy award winners to rock legends. Although still in their 20s, they often stand up to be counted amongst many of the most experienced pros in the business.
Although fronted by Andrew & Jamie, the brothers have enlisted the services of several well respected & legendary musicians to create the dense soundscapes that flood the brothers’ music.
Featured on the new single ‘Heart & Soul’ are legendary 10cc & Camel drummer Paul Burgess who worked with the brothers on their last single, and on bass is longtime Jethro Tull & Gary Moore bass player Jonathan Noyce who has also worked with such luminaries as Rick Wakeman & Take That.
As well as receiving great reviews from the music press for their last two singles, plus airplay on both national and local BBC radio stations including live sessions, both tracks have charted well. The most recent single ‘Sonic Journey’ topped several charts on Amazon including taking over the #1 spot from none other than Sir Paul McCartney on the Hot New Releases chart!
When recently featured on the covermount CD of the world's leading progressive music magazine 'Prog', The Pipe Brothers Project's sound was summed up by magazine editor and respected music journalist Jerry Ewing as "vivacious" and praised their use of light and airy melodies.
Although it could be seen as a bold move to release purely instrumental music through this project, the duo seem to relish the challenge, as Andrew explains “Although we love writing songs with lyrics, we always believe instrumental music can be as powerful as a great song. At the end of the day they are just songs without words, the right melody can be timeless and speak volumes”

Although still only in his 20’s, Andrew has played and worked with everyone from grammy award winners to rock legends. Andrew is a founder member of acclaimed British rock band The Mentulls along with brother Jamie.
JAMIE PIPE
Along with brother Andrew, Jamie is a founding member of The Mentulls. With his unique style of playing bass lines in his left hand and keys parts with his right Jamie often turns heads. As a Hammond artist Jamie has a passion for the Hammond organ.
